The company RAUXA, born in Tárrega, Catalonia, was founded by Xavi Sanchez and Analia Serenelli, contemporary circus artists and revolutionaries of object and puppet theater.
They met at Cirque Plume in 2015, a French company and a world pioneer of contemporary circus.
In 2017, they created RAUXA with the firm intention of developing their own universe. Driven by a unique physical language, infused with circus, dance, and physical theater, combined with an innovative approach to puppetry, they wish to convey their tragicomic and poetic vision of life, attempting to stir the deepest emotions of their audiences.
Thanks to the multidisciplinary nature of their work, the revolution they have brought to the world of puppetry in recent years, and their relentless drive for creation and development, the company now boasts five shows: Paper Theatre, The Crisis of Imagination, Wool's Story, Anonymous, and Strambotik Kabaret.
These shows have allowed the company to tour in Germany, Andorra, Argentina, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Slovenia, Spain, the United Arab Emirates, Finland, France, the Netherlands, Hungary, Iceland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Lithuania, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Switzerland, and Tunisia.
The company has also developed the first exhibition of wind puppets, “Wind and Soul,” which premiered in Catalonia in May 2026 at the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Lleida.
The company's approach to puppetry is based on escaping traditional prototypes, inventing new manipulation techniques, accompanied by new prototypes, thus writing a new chapter in the contemporary history of puppetry.
Through performances that invite audiences to question reality and explore new possibilities, the company aims to awaken critical and creative perspectives on the contemporary world.
Xavi Sanchez
Born in Martorell, Barcelona, in 1987, he has been fascinated by circus arts since childhood.
He trained at several schools, including Alcorcón (2006-2007), Carampa (2007-2009) in Madrid, Teatro Cirqule in Geneva, Switzerland (2009-2010), the Regional Center for Circus Arts in Lomme, France (2010-2012), and Lido Toulouse, France (2013-2015), specializing in acrobatics, handstands, and juggling.
Her artistic journey stems from a desire to explore acrobatic disciplines and the relationship between the body and objects.
He has collaborated with Cirque Plume (2015), Kd Danse (2014), Jordi Duran Ruoldos (2015), Animal Religión (2018) among other companies.
Alongside his career in the circus, he fell in love with the art of puppetry. His desire to go beyond what had already been invented and his yearning to find a true identity for it led him down a serious path of experimentation and development, creating new techniques that broke away from traditional methods and changing the paradigm of the industry.
Today, he is considered more of an inventor and has developed more than 30 new puppet prototypes to date, different and unprecedented, which are manipulated in an unconventional way and generally without direct contact between puppet and puppeteer.
In 2017, together with Analia Serenelli, they created the company Rauxa. They currently have 5 shows and an exhibition.
Thanks to his innovative work, his works are of great national and international interest, having already toured more than 25 countries with them.
Analia Serenelli
Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1988, she began her artistic training in classical dance at the age of 5.
Then she dedicated herself to rhythmic gymnastics. Analía represented the Argentine National Team for 10 years, achieving many successes throughout her career (national titles, Pan-American and Ibero-American medals, and awards on the European tour).
At the age of 18, she retired from gymnastics and resumed her dance studies at the Julio Boca school in Buenos Aires (2008-2009) as well as at the Manuel Vallejos dance school (2010-2012).
At the same time, she trained in circus arts at the Circo Criollo School of the Brothers Oscar and Jorge Videla in Argentina.
Specialized in acrodance and aerial hoop, she joined Cirque Plume, a legendary contemporary circus company in France from 2015 to 2019, performing more than 200 performances with the company.
Since 2017 she has co-directed RAUXA together with Xavi Sánchez.
Analía has also been the producer of the company since its inception. An actuary with a degree in Economics and fluent in five languages, she has built a professional career that combines analytical rigor, strategic vision, and a passion for the performing arts.
She has driven the company's growth, consolidating its presence both in Spain and internationally, managing tours, partnerships, and exhibition opportunities in theaters, festivals, and events.
Over the years, she has produced RAUXA's tours in more than 25 countries, contributing to the international reach of its shows and the creation of a solid network of collaborators and programmers.
Her professional trajectory is deeply influenced by her experience in high-performance sports. The discipline, perseverance, and work ethic acquired during that period remain fundamental pillars of her professional work.
With a global perspective and strong organizational skills, Analía works to bring the performing arts to diverse audiences, fostering the convergence of innovation, contemporary themes, and dreamlike worlds.
